Higher then a Mile High!

Last week I had a chance to take some rare photos from the top of Colorado's State Capitol in a quest to find the perfect photo for something at work. It was such an exciting day for me that I  thought I would share my journey with you all.

A model of the building I was getting ready to Climb to the top of it (yes I said the top)

View from the base of the southside Colorado Capitol

First set down!

The walk on the roof to the next set of stairs (I think that's over 256 steps!)

View shot (oh and solar panels since that was why I was here to take pictures of the panel that are on the roof of the capitol)

View from the first landing (another set of solar panels)

OK so I know you don't want to see a shot of solar panels but check out the shadow of the scaffolding yeah that's me taking this picture!

Yeah I just like this shot

Just a little perspective

Secret stairs!  I love secret stairs!

Inside the dome! OK so there are some great signatures of folks that have worked on the capitol including one from 1896 (might be one of the original workers)

This is inside the tour that is on top of the dome (yep more secret stairs that I did not show you)

View from the top floor - see the gold in the picture kind of helps tell you where I am

Amazing views of Denver!

Here's another one

OK just to recap see that tower on top of the dome that is where I was!

YAY so much fun. It has been a while since I have gone on a photo shoot and I have to say I was very happy with the outcome even if that photo is not in this batch. I do hope you had a little adventure yourself viewing the photos.  If your ever in Denver you can see the capitol and get somewhat close. Much of the view platforms are closed due to renovation, but still some great views even if they are a little lower then where I got.

Until next time,
S
